Port Elizabeth: Matthew Hayden showed he is still the same as he was a year back. He scored a blazing half century that setup the Chennai Super Kings on the victory path against the Bangalore Royal Challengers. Chennai won by a massive 92-runs.

The veteran batsman, now retired, unfurled his true class on Monday when he scored 65 runs off a mere 35 balls. Chennai posted the highest score in the Indian Premier League Season II so far.

Chasing 180 runs to win, Bangalore were all out for 87 runs. Jacques Kallis was the top scorer for Bangalore Royal Challengers with 24 runs.

But it was Muralitharan who stole the limelight. He took 3 wickets while Balaji got 2.  Murali got the valuable wicket of Kevin Peitersen, trapping him leg before. Peitersen faced just one ball before he tried to play across the line to Muralitharan.

In the same over, Murali got Robin Uthappa out to his 'Dusra'. Uthappa got stumped while he was dragged out of the crease to play out Murali's delivery.

Four wickets fell for 11 runs in the space of three overs. Bangalore crumbled like a pack of cards. Once Murali took 2 wickets, they never looked promising. Rahul Dravid stood at one end while he saw 5 wickets fell at the other end. At one point, Rahul Dravid was on 7 runs & it was appearing as if he won't be able to reach double figures as he was running out of partners.

After the setback in the first match, Chennai bounced back in style. It was Hayden's blazing knock that made the difference in the final analysis, as man of the match Muralitharan also admitted.
