The cricketainment of IPL season-2 has been creating huge buzz for the last ten days and the mercury is rising every passing day. Some of the games witnessed, have been spellbinding and given real value for money to the fans.
Tendulkar exploded (34) briefly with two sixes and three fours. Tendulkar hit Ajit Agarkar for a six and a four before falling in the same over and Mumbai plunged to three for 54. Deciding to take first strike, Mumbai Indians lost quick wickets at the top before J.P. Duminy's fighting unbeaten 52 took them to 148 for six.
Brad Hodge's strokeful 73 took Knight Riders close to victory, but he failed to finish the match.
Mumbai Indians registered their third win in six matches while Kight Riders slumped to their fifth loss, third consecutive, while langusing at the bottom of the table.
Zaheer Khan struck three blows as Mumbai Indians outclassed Kolkata Knight Riders by nine runs in Indian Premier League (IPL).
Desperately looking for a win, Knight Riders' out-of-form captain Brendon McCullum brought himself down the order with Sourav Ganguly and Chris Gayle opening the batting.
The changes made little difference as both Gayle and Ganguly became Zaheer's (3-31) victims with just two runs on the board. Zaheer removed the duo in his first two overs.
Ganguly was out for a golden duck, as he reached out to a wide delivery to get a thick inside edge onto his stumps.
Gayle failed to read a slower one and ended up with his stumps rattled. Hodge and Morne Van Wyk (32) did the recovery job with a 89-run stand and seemed to have done their bit to win the match, before losing the plot in the end.
With 50 runs required off 29 balls, Vyn Wyk was dismissed by Graham Napier. Laxmi Shukla soon became Zaheer's third victim.
McCullum's bad run continued and when Hodge was run out in the 19th over, Knight Riders' challenge was all but over.
