Title: Kohli, Uthappa steady Bangalore ship

Virat Kohli and Robin Uthappa took charge of Bangalore's innings after Chennai dealt them successive blows.

After Chennai got rid of danger-man Jacques Kallis, Muralitharan sent Rahul Dravid packing to put Bangalore on the back-foot.

Soon after Dravid's exit, Manish Pandey also headed back to the dug-out. Raina took a good catch off Muralitharan to see off Pandey.

L Balaji became the first bowler to dismiss Jacques Kallis in the tournament as he got the better of his middle stump.

Chennai skipper Suresh Raina called right at the toss and elected to bowl first against Anil Kumble-led Bangalore.

While Anil Kumble’s men have been on a roll after their defeat to Kolkata at the Eden Gardens, Chennai had their progress rudely jolted by a resurgent Mohali.

The Super Over loss to the third edition’s bottom rankers will hurt Chennai, who are already without skipper MS Dhoni.

Last year’s finalists faced a shock defeat against Kolkata but since then Jacques Kallis has been unstoppable.

His unbeaten fifty in a losing cause against Kokata was followed up three successive Man of the Match efforts. The South African all-rounder is yet to be dismissed in the tournament so far and with 264 runs is in firm possession of the Orange Cap.
