Kochi team owner Rendezvous Sports alleged that Lalit Modi had offerd a USD 50 million bribe to withdraw from the race, prompting him to threaten legal action.
Shailendra Gaikwad, CEO of the franchise, alleged, "We were offered USD 50 million by Modi to withdraw from the Kochi team."
Gaikwad made allegations within hours of Modi saying that there was a question mark over the fate of the new team.
When Modi was asked about it, he asked 'who will offer them (Kochi franchise) what they say Rs 200 crore', threatening to take a legal recourse.
Modi further added that he was waiting for the clippings, in which Gaikwad had made allegation that Modi wanted their bid to be withdrawn, and the moemnt he would have that, he would serve them legal notice.
