Murali Vijay hit a quick-fire century and Albie Morkel a half century as the duo helped Chennai post 246/5 against the Royals .
Murali Vijay and Albie Morkel put the Rajasthan Royals bowlers to sword with their aggressive batting and helped Chennai Super Kings post a huge total in their Indian Premier League match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.
The home team had made a mammoth 246 for five in their stipulated 20 overs.
It was the highest ever total in the IPL - surpassing the 240 for five they had themselves made against Kings XI Punjab in the inaugural edition.
The first 10 overs of the innings cost Rajasthan 91 runs. The last 10 cost them 155 runs - 76 coming off the last five.
And that underlines Chennai's dominance.
Earlier, Matthew Hayden was looking in good stead and hitting the ball all around the ground when Shrikant Wagh sent him packing. Shane Watson took an easy catch to help Jaipur get the all-important wicket.
Murali Vijay and Matthew Hayden had started Chennai's charge on a high note after they won the toss and elected to bat first against Jaipur.
Chennai had roared back to some kind of form against Bangalore, thanks to Murali Vijay. Throw Doug Bollinger into the mix, fresh from the New Zealand tour, and Chennai will be a dangerous side.
This one is going to be close and if things click for both teams, fans in Chennai will be treated to the feast of their lives.
