Title: Sri lanka steady their innings in opening match of Champions Trophy 2009

Desc:

The opening match of the Champions Trophy 2009 between Sri lanka & South Africa began with Sanath Jayasuriya getting out on a low score of 10. Dale Steyn grabbed Jayasuriya's wicket with a lbw.

That didn't stop Dilshan from scoring a quick half century at less than a ball a run. He looks steady & has a platform set for himself to score a century. Kumar Sangakkara ably supported Dilshan at the other end.

South Africa won the toss & elected to field first at Centurion in the first match of the Champions Trophy 2009. The Proteas would have the home advantage & they would definitely like to venture into the series on a winning streak.

Both the teams look equally balanced with a mix of spin & fast bowling. Sri lankans are good players of spin bowling. Despite that, the Proteas have gone into the match with 2 spinners. That says a lot about the pitch. It will be exciting to watch Murali when Sri lanka bowls in the 2nd innings.
