Kallis is a talented right-handed batsman and an effective fast-medium bowler, being the only cricketer to score more than 10,000 runs, bag 250 wickets and pouch 100 catches in both Tests and ODIs. From October to December of 2007, he produced a remarkable streak of five centuries in 4 Tests. With 34 Test centuries to his credit, Kallis has established himself as one of the modern greats of the game. He was pivotal to South Africa winning the ICC Champions Trophy title in 1998 with two Man-of-the-Match and the Player-of-the-Series performances.
Kallis currently holds a number of South African cricket records, including most ODI and Test runs, highest ODI and second highest Test batting average and most Test centuries. With a remarkable batting average of over 58, he is rated as one of the best batsmen in the world. In the second edition of IPL, his 69* steered RCB to a 9-wicket win against Mumbai Indians in the league stages.
