The final match was as promising as it could be with the start that Anil Kumble provided. Anil Kumble took the bold decision to bowl first over and tasted success. As and when his team needed someone to stop Deccan Chargers rampage he came on and took wicket
in every over he bowled.

"Obviously it hurts when you reach the final and... But I think 143 was gettable on this track with our batting line-up. We were cruising but I think those two wickets in two balls didn't help our cause said Kumble. He said the responsibility of leading the team brought the best out of him.
 
The main turning point of the match was Andrew Symonds taking Ross Taylor and Virat Kohli in two successive balls. Deccan maintained their calm and cool as they made not - so - high target of 143. Gibbs played an important innings too.

Robin Utthapa hesitated to show courage in his captain and did not took runs in 2-3 balls of last over. As they lost the match Anil Kumble was angry at him that he did not allowed them to take the trophy. Maybe next year Uthhapa may not be seen in the few early matches for his stupidity!

Anil Kumble was declared man of the match.
